
The MassHire Merrimack Valley Workforce Board is proud to announce that the Greater Lawrence Community Action Council (GLCAC) has been selected to operate the MassHire Merrimack Valley Career Center, effective July 1, 2025. This prestigious award underscores the GLCAC’s commitment to empowering individuals and strengthening communities through workforce development, education, and career advancement opportunities.
The MassHire Merrimack Valley Career Center is a vital resource for job seekers, employers, and the broader community, providing access to career counseling, job training programs, skill-building workshops, and connections to local employers. As the new operator, the GLCAC will build on the center’s strong foundation to expand services, enhance partnerships, and ensure that residents of the Merrimack Valley have the tools and support they need to thrive in today’s competitive job market.

Through this new partnership, the GLCAC will collaborate with local businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations to ensure that the career center remains a hub of opportunity and growth.
Key initiatives under the GLCAC’s leadership will include:

- The transition to the leadership of GLCAC is progressing smoothly, with full operations scheduled to begin on July 1, 2025. The MassHire Merrimack Valley Career Center will maintain its operations at the current location at 420 Common Street in Lawrence.
- Additionally, there are plans to open an affiliate location in Haverhill within the first 45 days after the new operator contract takes effect. The organization is committed to ensuring a seamless transition and maintaining the high level of service that the community has come to expect from the MassHire Merrimack Valley Career Center.
